The Most Holy Virgin Love said to the venerable Mary of Jesus:
“It is of the utmost importance to rational creatures that they allow themselves to be guided by the Lord’s hand and to surrender themselves completely to the divine decrees. For mortal men know neither the ways nor the goal to which they lead.
In their ignorance they are incapable of making their own choice without falling into audacity or without exposing themselves to the great danger of eternal damnation. If, on the other hand, they give themselves wholeheartedly to Divine Providence, and recognize God as their Father, and themselves as His children and creatures, then God becomes their Protector, Helper, and Guide. And with such love that He wants to show Heaven and earth that it is His will and His job to lead His own and to direct all who trust in Him and give themselves to Him. If God were capable of giving Himself over to feelings of pain or jealousy, as men do, He would suffer and envy as many times as souls would seek what they need elsewhere and not from Him, who takes care of everything. And men should know this truth if they thought of what the Father does among them for His children, the Bridegroom for His bride, the Friend for His friend, the Prince for His beloved servants, whom He loves and desires to honor. All this is nothing compared to the Love with which God loves His people and what He wants to do for them and can do for them. God Himself says that not a hair of His elect can perish, for He has counted them all. God leads their steps to life and leads them away from death. He watches out for their deeds, graciously corrects their mistakes, anticipates their wishes, thinks ahead of their cares, defends them in dangers, cheers them up in rest, strengthens them in battle, helps them in their sorrows, spares them disappointments. God sanctifies them with His goodness, strengthens them with His power. God wants to give himself wholly to the righteous who possesses his grace and has placed his trust in him. Who, then, can comprehend how many good things and how great gifts God will pour into a heart that is thus prepared to receive them?
