Flower of Devotion

The words of St. Mechtilde:

“I praise you continually, God the Father, for your noble goodness that you have chosen me for your sacred service. Sanctify my spirit, that I may receive all Your gifts with holy gratitude and persevere with You with joy. Amen.
I give thanks to you, King of heaven, Son of God, I thank you forever for calling me to your service. Your holy suffering, which You endured for me, is mine. All that I suffer, I wish to offer You for it, and though my suffering is so little equal to Yours, yet deign to accept it from me. Keep me forever in Your holy grace, that I may praise You always. Jesus, my beloved, free me from the bonds of worldly things and grant that I may always be close to you.
Thank You, O Holy Spirit! I firmly believe that you are one of the Persons of the Most Holy Trinity. The stream of Your sweet fountain of love destroys all my heartaches as it flows so gently upon me from the Most Holy Trinity. I ask You, O Holy Spirit, to protect me by Your Divine love from all the wiles of evil spirits, so that they do not find what they seek in me. Amen.
