Flower of Devotion

On one occasion the Lord said to St. Bridget:

“I want to be loved fervently, for I am the fire of God’s love. There are three miraculous phenomena in My fire. First, that it burns, but never needs to be lit. Secondly, that it never goes out. Thirdly, that it burns all the time, but it is not digested.
Such was My love for man from the beginning in My Divinity, which, when I assumed humanity, burned more fiercely and burns so much that it never goes out, but makes the soul burn; Nor does it digest it, but constantly strengthens it.
