Flower of Devotion

Once, when St. Mechtilde, in thanksgiving, was contemplating the power of God’s love, which brought the Lord Jesus from the bosom of the Father to Love’s womb, the Lord Jesus said to her:
“Behold, I give myself into the power of your soul, that I may be your prisoner, and that you may command me as you please. And I will be like a prisoner, who can do nothing but what his Lord commands him, completely subject to your will.”
