Flower of Devotion

Once the Lord said to St. Bridget:

“I am your God!” My Spirit has guided you to hear, see, and feel. You hear My words, see the similarities, and feel My Spirit with joy and devotion in your soul. In Me is all mercy with justice, and in justice is mercy. I am like one who sees his friends fall on the road where there is a terrible chaos from which it is impossible for them to rise. To these friends I speak through those who have knowledge of the Scriptures, I speak through plagues, and I warn them of the danger that threatens them. But they go astray and do not care about My Words.
My words are actually just one word, namely, “Sinner, turn to Me! Thou hast walked in a perilous way, for there is a snare hidden in it, and because of the obscuration of thy mind thou canst not know it.” This word of Mine is despised. No one cares about My mercy.
Though I am so merciful as to warn them when they sin, yet I am also so just that even though all the angels wish to protect them, they will not incite them to retreat unless they themselves willingly turn to good. If, on the other hand, they direct their will to the good, and if they agree to accept all that comes from Me with joy, then all the devils will not stop them from pursuing Me.
