Venerable Mary of Jesus writes about angels in her apparitions:
“Angels are invisible rays of the divinity. They are agile in their movements and in their actions, very powerful in strength, very perfect and infallible in knowledge, unchangeable in their character and will. Once they see it, they never forget it and never lose sight of it. They are filled with grace and glory without the danger of losing these gifts.
When God wishes to give men the grace of seeing an angel, such a heavenly spirit, because it is without a body and therefore invisible, assumes upon itself an apparent body, made of air, which our senses can perceive, and which corresponds to the purpose for which the angel is to appear. Angels are more exalted and more closely related to Deity by virtue of their purely spiritual essence than are the visible creatures. In terms of their order, they are divided into three hierarchies and nine choirs³.
(Author’s Note: The individual choirs of angels, their names, and the degrees they occupy, were previously given in the chapter entitled “The Different Degrees of Heavenly Bliss.”)
