Flower of Devotion

On one occasion St. Mechtilde wished with heartfelt desire to merit this grace in order to hear the tone or sound of the voice of the Son of God, with which he was accustomed to proclaim the glory of God the Father. The Lord Jesus answered her: “My voice is nothing but ‘Let it be done!‘ – this is the omnipotence of My Divine will. For the heavens, the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, were created by these words alone, as the Scriptures testify when they say, “Let there be light, let there be the establishment of heaven, etc.” For all that is in Heaven and on earth is governed by My will of God alone, and all the glory, all the joys and happiness of the saints depend only on My beck and call.”
