On one occasion St. Mechtilde asked the Lord Jesus: “What is the use of a book containing her revelations?” The Savior said to her,
All who seek me with faithful hearts will find joy in it, those who love me will be more kindled in my love, and those who are sad will find comfort in it.”

Flower of Devotion

God, the infinitely perfect Spirit. God’s testimony of Himself.

St. Bridget heard the Lord say:

I, God, am the Spirit.” I speak and it becomes; I command, and all things obey Me. Verily, I am the One who has given existence and life to all. Before I made Heaven, I made mountains and earth. I am in Myself, who am above and beyond all, as I am in all, as all is in Me, and without Me there is nothing. And since My Spirit dwells everywhere where He wills, and can do all things if He wills; And he knows everything, and he is faster and more agile than all the other spirits. For He possesses all power, and foresees all things present, past, and future; therefore it is My Spirit, i.e., My Divinity, which is rightly incomprehensible, but which Itself comprehends all things.
