On one occasion St. Mechtilde asked the Lord Jesus: “What is the use of a book containing her revelations?” The Savior said to her,
All who seek me with faithful hearts will find joy in it, those who love me will be more kindled in my love, and those who are sad will find comfort in it.”

GOD. Most Holy Trinity

The Lord Jesus said to St. Bridget:

I am one God with the Father and with the Holy Spirit. I am one with the Father and with the Holy Spirit, not as gods of stone or gold, as was said in the past, nor in more of them, as was then believed. There is only one God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, threefold in persons, one in essence, who creates all things but was not created by anyone, immovable and omnipotent, without beginning and without end.

On another occasion the Lord Jesus said to the saint:

I am one with the Father and with the Holy Spirit, the true God.” Although God is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, there are not three gods, only three Persons and one God. You may ask: If there are three Persons, why are there not three gods? I will answer you, For there is no other God but power, wisdom, goodness itself, from whom proceeds all power under and above heaven, as well as all wisdom and godliness that can be imagined. Therefore God is threefold and one; threefold in Persons, one in Essence. For power and wisdom are the Father, from whom all things come, and who is before all things, and is mighty only of Himself, and from eternity. Wisdom and power are also the Son, who is equal to the Father, but is not mighty of Himself, but of the Father he became mighty, and of Him he is ineffably born, the beginning in the beginning and never separated from the Father. Power and wisdom are also the Holy Spirit, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, abides eternally with the Father and the Son, and is equal to them in majesty and might.
Therefore there is one God and there are three Persons, because they have one Being, one power, one will, one glory and one power. They are one in Essence, and differ only by the qualities of the Persons. For the whole Father is in the Son and in the Holy Spirit, and the Son in the Father and in the Holy Spirit, and the Holy Ghost in both, in the one Essence of the Godhead, not before or since, but in an ineffable way. There is nothing before and nothing after, nothing is greater or less than another, but everything is an ineffable whole and equality. That is why it is rightly written that God is wonderful and that He should be glorified.
