Flower of Devotion

The Lord Jesus said to St. Bridget:

“I am with the Father and with the Holy Spirit one God.
In the providence of My divinity, everything has been foreseen and ordained from the beginning and before all time. All bodily and spiritual things are regulated and ordered, and everything stands or moves according to what I foresaw and decreed. All the elements, too, are in their order and in their movements, as foreseen centuries ago, and move according to the will of the Creator. Therefore, every intelligent creature should be ready to move according to the Creator’s purpose. If, on the other hand, he does the opposite, it is clear that he is abusing his free will, and while unreasonable creatures do not exceed their limits, a man endowed with reason, by committing excesses, brings upon himself a heavy judgment, because he abuses his reason.
