On one occasion St. Mechtilde asked the Lord Jesus: “What is the use of a book containing her revelations?” The Savior said to her,
“All who seek me with faithful hearts will find joy in it, those who love me will be more kindled in my love, and those who are sad will find comfort in it.”
St. Mechtilde writes in her apparitions:
“I know of no one who, even if he is the best, should not constantly examine and know his own heart. He should look at what dwells in him, and often rebuke his faulty actions; which should be done with humble words. The voice of God taught me that.
