On one occasion St. Mechtilde asked the Lord Jesus: “What is the use of a book containing her revelations?” The Savior said to her,
All who seek me with faithful hearts will find joy in it, those who love me will be more kindled in my love, and those who are sad will find comfort in it.”

Woe to the sinner

St. Mechtilde writes in her apparitions:
“Oh, woe to you, sinner, how miserable you are! You are a suicidal destroyer and the destroyer of all good and true utility. A good man benefits greatly from evil things, for when he sees another sin and fall, he is careful not to enter into the same misfortune. And a good man will be improved by bad things, so that out of them good arises. A bad man, on the other hand, becomes an even worse one; If he sees good works and examples, he despises them and those who do them, and he delights above all in his own perversity and wisdom.
