The Most Holy Virgin Love said to the venerable Mary of Jesus:
“The Creator created man not to be His slave, but to be the Lord and King of all things, and to use them as their ruler. At the same time, man should consider himself a creature and the image and likeness of his Creator, and consequently he should be more subject to his Creator and pay more attention to His will than the rest of creatures do to him; This is required by the order of reason.
And in order that man may not lack light to know his Creator and to choose the means suitable for knowing His will and for doing it, the Lord God has given him, in addition to the natural light, that is, reason, another light, a greater light, which he can acquire more quickly, more easily, and with less toil; and which is at the same time more certain and accessible to all men, namely, the light of divine faith, by virtue of which man may know the essence of God and His attributes, and at the same time the works of God. By this power of discernment, and by the above-mentioned dominion over all created things, man has been most ordered, honored, and enriched, so that there is no acquittal unless he submits himself entirely to the will of God.
The unreasonableness of men overturns this whole order and destroys this divine harmony; He who was created to be the Lord and King of creatures makes Himself their low slave and submits to their yoke. In this way he also insults his dignity and uses visible things, not as a wise lord, but as a dignified subject; And he does not acknowledge himself as Lord, for he humbles himself profoundly as the lowest of creatures.
All this perversity arises from the fact that man does not relate visible things to the Creator as he ought to do, with the help of faith, and does not use them in His name, but that he uses everything evilly, only for the purpose of gratifying his passions and his senses by the pleasures which creatures give him; That is why man is so disgusted with everything that does not give pleasure.
You, My daughter, look upon your Creator with the eye of faith and strive to engrave in your soul the image of His divine perfections; Maintain dominion over your creatures so that none of them dominate your freedom. Yes, I want you to triumph over all, and that nothing stands in the way between God and your soul. You should not give in to the allurements of creatures, for that would cloud your reason and weaken your will. On the other hand, you should lovingly submit to everything that involves troubles and ailments, and you should bear it joyfully and willingly. For I did the same to imitate My Most Holy Son, although it was in My power to choose peace and I did not need to repent of any sin.
