On one occasion St. Mechtilde asked the Lord Jesus: “What is the use of a book containing her revelations?” The Savior said to her,
All who seek me with faithful hearts will find joy in it, those who love me will be more kindled in my love, and those who are sad will find comfort in it.”

The Operation of God’s Grace in the Soul

Venerable Mary of Jesus writes in her apparitions:
“So great is the power and efficacy of God’s grace that it is able to obliterate in the soul the image of sin, the image of earthly man, and to create in him a new being, the heavenly image” (1 Corinthians 15:47), whose life is in heaven. As a result, man thinks, loves, and acts no longer as an earthly creature, but as a supernatural, heavenly being. For the power of love turns the soul away from the place where it lives and dwells, and transports it and transforms it into what it loves.

Of this action of God’s graces in the soul of man, the Most Holy Virgin Love said to the venerable Mary of Jesus:

The graces of God fill the soul of man with light, truth, and sound doctrine, and stimulate it to greater perfection, and give it strength and strengthen the will to multiply in it. Such are the signs of graces that come down from the Father of light: they give peace to the soul and humiliate it. They humiliate her, but they don’t take away her courage. They give the soul confidence combined with zeal and vigilance. They add zeal combined with serenity, so that all these qualities of the soul do not hinder the accomplishment of God’s will in the soul.
