On one occasion St. Mechtilde asked the Lord Jesus: “What is the use of a book containing her revelations?” The Savior said to her,
“All who seek me with faithful hearts will find joy in it, those who love me will be more kindled in my love, and those who are sad will find comfort in it.”

On one occasion the Lord Jesus said to St. Gertrude:

“Whenever anyone at these words will devoutly bow to thank Me for having become man for the sake of men, I will be moved by My goodness to bow down to him. From the depths of My heart, I offer to My heavenly Father all the fruits and merits of My most holy Humanity, in order to double the eternal happiness of all those who worship Me in this way.
