In the apparitions of St. Gertrude we read:
On the feast of the Holy Magi, St. Gertrude, according to the example of the three Magi, offered to God the Body of Jesus Christ with all the merits of His Passion and Death, for the forgiveness of all sins of the whole human race – as myrrh. Further, the most pious Soul of Jesus Christ, with all that was holy in it, as incense to make up for all the sluggishness of the whole world. Finally, His supreme Divinity with all His perfections and joys as gold to atone for all the faults and transgressions of all creatures.
And the Lord revealed himself and let her know that he had presented this sacrifice as a very precious New Year’s gift to the Most Holy Trinity. And when He passed by with this gift, the whole court of heaven made a deep obeisance to this sacrifice before Him, just as it is customary to fall on one’s knees before the Blessed Sacrament when a priest passes with Him.
