The words of St. Bridget:
Glorified be you, my God, my Creator and Redeemer! You are the ransom by which we have been freed from bondage, who leads us to all happiness and unites us to the Oneness and the Trisubstantiality. Therefore, although I am ashamed of my sinful ugliness, I am glad that You, who once died for our salvation, will never die again. For verily you are the One who was also before the world existed. You alone are the good and the just, you yourself are the almighty and the terrible. Therefore, be glorified forever!
And what shall I say of you, Blessed Mary? You, all the salvation of the world! Thou art like one who suddenly showed to a friend who was grieved by the loss of a precious thing what had been lost to him; whereby he eased his grief
, and increased his joy, so that his heart was rekindled with joy. In the same way, O sweetest Mother, you have shown the world its God, whom men have lost. And in the course of time you gave birth to Him who was conceived before the existence of time, and whose birth all that was in heaven and on earth rejoiced. Therefore, Sweetest Mother, I beg you to help me so that my enemy does not mock me and does not overwhelm me with his tricks. Amen.
