The Most Holy Virgin Love said to the venerable Mary of Jesus, “
My daughter! The gifts of the soul, of heavenly bliss, consist, as you know, in the sight and possession of God; and to enjoy Him, the supreme Good.
But the gifts of the transfigured body will be: clarity, imperviousness to suffering, gentleness and agility. You ought also to know that every good deed which a man performs in the state of sanctifying grace increases in a corresponding way in Heaven each of these gifts, even though this act be nothing else than the lifting of a straw or the giving of a glass of water for the love of God. By each of these actions, which are insignificant in themselves, a man gains when he enters into heavenly bliss, such a brightness that it surpasses that of many suns. As for the imperviousness to suffering, the transformed body will never be rotten or decayed. By means of delicacy a man will come to be superior to all things, whatever obstruction may be placed in his feelings, and to obtain the power to penetrate all that he wills. By virtue of the gift of agility, he will possess the ability to move lighter and faster than birds, wind, and all living creatures.
From the merits which can be merited in respect to the gifts of the body, you can understand what merits await a just man with regard to the gifts of the soul, since the gifts of the body correspond to and result from the gifts of the soul. For in the contemplation of the Godhead man will receive for every merit a greater clarity and a better understanding of the divine attributes and perfections than all the scholars and sages of the Church have ever possessed in their life on earth.
In the same way, the gift of having God will be multiplied. For as a result of this possession, and the power with which it will embrace this supreme and infinite Good, the righteous will acquire a new assurance and peace. This assurance and peace will be stronger than the possession of all that creatures can give in terms of valuables, possessions, pleasures, and joys, even though man may possess them without fear of losing them. By means of the gift of sharing (the Divine Being), which is the third gift bestowed upon the soul, the righteous in Heaven will receive recompense for every good deed, even the smallest one, done out of love for God. The merit of this sharing love will be so sublime that the greatest inclination of heart which men show in life to the things seen can never be compared with this merit. In the same way, the pleasure that flows from it cannot be compared with anything that exists in this life.
