On one occasion, on the feast of the Annunciation to the Most HolyVirgin Love, when the antiphon “This is the day” was sung and the words “Today God became man” were pronounced, the entire congregation of the monastery fell to the ground to pay homage to the most worthy Incarnation of the Son of God. Saint Gertrude saw how the Lord Jesus, mindful of the love that made Him man, rise from His royal throne and say, standing before His heavenly Father with the reverence that belongs: “O heavenly Father, my brethren have come to me!”
