Flower of Devotion

On one occasion St. Mechtilde saw the Lord Jesus opening the Wound of His Sacred Heart and saying to her:

“Behold the greatness of My gentleness. If you want to know it, you will not find it anywhere so clearly as in the words of the Scriptures, for never have you heard the words of a more thankful and sweeter voice than these, “As the Father has loved me, I love you” (John 15:9), and other such words that I have spoken to my disciples as well as to my Father, when I have done much good to them.”
