Flower of Devotion

On one occasion the Lord Jesus said to St. Mechtilde:
“Behold, I am the spokesman, intercessor and mediator of men with my Father. A zealous spokesman carefully collects his master’s rent, and when he perceives that some of it is lacking, he adds to it from his estate. And so do I. Every good that man does, I offer a hundredfold to My Father, and what is lacking, I make up from Mine, so that I may present the soul of man, endowed with innumerable riches, to My heavenly Father in the presence of all the saints.”
