Flower of Devotion

On one occasion the Lord Jesus said to St. Gertrude:

“It is of great benefit to men to contemplate that I, the son of a virgin, stand before God my Father for the salvation of men. That I, too, if men make a mistake in their hearts out of natural weakness, I offer My incorruptible Heart to the heavenly Father in order to make reparation for them. And if they sin in deed, then I offer My pierced hands for them, and I do the same for all their other mistakes they make. In this way, My innocence softens My heavenly Father and makes Him willing to forgive at any time if they regret having offended Him. That is why I wish My worshippers to thank Me whenever they receive the remission of their sins, for which they have supplicated, for it is only through Me that they obtain it so easily.”
