Flower of Devotion

On one occasion, St. Gertrude prayed the following prayer 5,466 times in honour of all the wounds of the Lord Jesus:
“Honour and praise for ever for the rosy wounds of my beloved Saviour, O Most Holy Trinity, so lovable by Your goodness and magnificence, so glorious by Your majesty and omnipotence, and so peaceful by Your unchanging bliss!
At that very hour the Lord Jesus appeared to St. Gertrude, incomparably more beautiful than all the angels, with golden flowers on each of His wounds. He greeted her with a courteous countenance, and said to her, “Behold in what glorious splendor I appear to you! And in the same way I will appear to you at your death, and I will cover all the stains of your sins. I will do the same to all those who, like you, will reverently greet My wounds.”
