On one occasion St. Mechtilde asked the Lord Jesus: “What is the use of a book containing her revelations?” The Savior said to her,
All who seek me with faithful hearts will find joy in it, those who love me will be more kindled in my love, and those who are sad will find comfort in it.”

Nativity of the Most Holy Virgin Love

Venerable Love of Jesus describes the birth of the Blessed Virgin Love as follows:

The day came full of grace and joy for the world, in which the light of this world was to be seen by that child who had been sanctified, predestined and prepared to be the Mother of God.
This birth took place on the eighth day of the month of September. The holy mother, Anne, was prepared by an inner enlightenment in which the Lord let her know that the moment of her dissolution was approaching. Full of the joy of the Holy Spirit, she listened to this voice of God, and then she fell on her face to pray to the Lord. She asked Him for grace and protection so that this moment would pass happily.
At that moment, the power of God and Providence brought about Anne’s great delight, greater than that of a happy child. Deprived of all sensual activity in this rapture, she gave birth to Love.
At her birth, Love was pure, spotless, beautiful and full of grace, and thus revealed that she came into the world free from the law of sin and free from the guilt of sin. Her birth was essentially no different from that of the other children of Adam; but by the special grace of God it was accompanied by circumstances which may be called a miracle, which amazed the whole creation and contributed to the Creator’s eternal adoration.
It was twelve o’clock in the night when the morning star rose, and the night and darkness of the old law began to separate from the first dawn of the coming day of grace. The sweetest baby was wrapped in swaddling clothes and was cared for in the same way as other babies. Saint Mother Anne did not want to allow foreign hands to take care of this child saint; So she wrapped her in swaddling clothes with her own hands. And the happy mother took her child in her arms, the child who was her daughter, and at the same time the greatest treasure of Heaven and earth, if such a creature can be; for the child was inferior only to God Himself, but higher than all creation. And with fervent devotion she offered them to the Majesty of God.
