Flower of Devotion

On one occasion the Lord said to St. Bridget:

“My Blessed Mother surpasses all the saints in her virtues. For although the angels are very pure, yet My Mother is even more pure, and although the prophets were filled with the Holy Spirit, and although the martyrs suffered much, yet the Holy Spirit in My Mother was fiery and fuller, and She was more than a martyr. Although the followers abstained from everything, My Mother had a more perfect abstinence than they did, for in Her was My Divinity and Humanity.
