On one occasion St. Mechtilde asked the Lord Jesus: “What is the use of a book containing her revelations?” The Savior said to her,
All who seek me with faithful hearts will find joy in it, those who love me will be more kindled in my love, and those who are sad will find comfort in it.”

Teaching of Godly Mother on Pentecost

The Blessed Virgin Mary said to the venerable Mary of Jesus:

My daughter, the children of the Church have little understanding and little gratitude for the benefits which the Most High has bestowed upon them by sending them the Holy Spirit, having previously sent them His Son as Teacher and Redeemer. The love with which He loved them, and by which He wished to draw them to Himself, was so great that, in order to impart to them of His perfections, He first sent them a Son, who is wisdom; and then the Holy Spirit, who is His love. That according to the degree of their sensitivity, they may be enriched by these two perfections.
Although the Holy Spirit was sent on the first occasion only upon the apostles and upon the rest of the people who were gathered with them; but in this descent he has already given the assurance and guarantee that the same benefit will be granted to all the other children of the Church, as children of the Light and of the Gospel. And that all will receive the same grace if they prepare themselves sufficiently for it. To authenticate this truth, the Holy Ghost Himself descended upon many of the faithful in visible form, or in effects not perceptible to the senses. Because they were faithful servants, humble, honest and pure in heart, and thus they were sufficiently prepared to receive Him.

And now he ascends to many righteous souls, though not with such visible signs as then. For it is no longer necessary or appropriate. As for His actions and gifts, they are the same today as they were then. And each one will receive them according to his sensitivity and according to his perfection.
Happy is that soul that desires and sighs to receive this blessing and to partake of that divine fire which kindles and enlightens; and all earthly and carnal things he destroys and purifies the soul. It raises it to a new dignity by uniting it to God Himself and making it capable of sharing in His perfections.
