Flower of Devotion

On one occasion Our Lady said to St. Bridget:
I am the Queen of Heaven! Love My Son, for He is most lovable, and when you have Him, you will have all honesty. He is also supremely desirable; and when you have Him, you will have all that is desirable. Love Him also because He is the most virtuous, and when you have Him, you will have all the virtues. I will also tell you how sweetly My most holy Son loved My body, how sweetly He loved My soul, and how much He honoured My Name. My Son loved Me sooner than I loved Him, because He is My Creator.
When My body was formed, the Lord God sent to it the soul He had created, and soon both My soul and My body were sanctified. Angels watched over them day and night. And when My soul was sanctified and assigned to My body, My parents felt such joy that it is impossible to express it. Then, when the course of my life ended, My most holy Son first exalted my soul, precisely because it was the mistress of my body, and magnificently to the divinity before the others. As a result, My body is as close to God as any other body of any creature.
See how much My Most Holy Son loved My soul and My body. There are those who, through the evil spirit, deny that I was taken up body and soul into Heaven; Some, however, do so because they do not know it well. It is the surest truth that I was assumed into the Deity with body and soul.
Now listen to how much My Son has honoured My Most Holy Name.
My name is Mary, as we read in the Gospel. When the angels hear this name, they rejoice in the depths of their souls. They also give thanks to God, who through Me and in Me has completed such graces that they themselves see the Humanity of My Son glorified in the Divinity. Those who are in purgatory rejoice exceedingly when they hear My name. Just as a sick man rejoices in bed when he hears a word of consolation from someone, which is pleasing to his heart, and he utters a cry of gladness. And the good angels, when they hear my name, immediately draw nearer to the righteous, to whom they are added as guardians, and from whose multiplication in good they find great comfort to themselves.
For good angels are given to all men as guardians, and evil angels come to men to test them. The guardian angels do not dwell with men as if they were separated from God, but rather they serve the soul in such a way that they do not abandon God, but are constantly present in His Presence, and at the same time encourage and stimulate the soul to do good.
All Satans, on the other hand, fear and shun My name. When they hear this name Mary, they immediately release the soul from their clutches in which they have held it. For, like a bird that has a beak and talons to seize its prey, when it hears a sound, it releases its prey, but seeing no dangerous consequences in its effects, it immediately returns to it; thus the devils leave My name, as if they were frightened of the soul, but they return like a swift arrow and pounce upon it, if there is no sincere improvement in it.
But no one, unless he is condemned, is so cold in the love of God that Satan should not immediately depart from him, and never return to him again when he calls upon that name for the purpose of repentance from his sinful way of life. Unless, of course, a man were to renew in his heart the will to commit mortal sin.
