Flower of Devotion

On one occasion the Blessed Mother said to St. Bridget:

“I had three qualities by which I pleased my Son: humility in the sense that no creature, angel or man, was more humble than I. Obedience by which I tried to be obedient to My Son in all things. And the love is quite excellent.
That is why the Son honoured Me in three ways.
In the first place, I have received a higher veneration than angels and men, in such a way that there is no virtue before God that does not shine in Me. Although the Lord God is the source and Creator of all things, and I am only His creation, to whom He has given His grace before others.
Secondly, I have received so much power for my obedience that every sinner, no matter how great and unclean, if he comes to me with a determination to reform and with a contrite heart, is forgiven.
Thirdly, God has come so close to Me that whoever sees God sees Me. And whoever sees Me can see the Divinity and Humanity in Me as in a mirror. For whoever sees God sees in Him three Persons; and whoever sees Me also sees, as it were, these three Persons. For the Divinity has enclosed Me body and soul in Himself and filled me with all virtue. So that there is no virtue in God that does not shine in Me, although the Lord God Himself is the Father and giver of all virtues.
For just as two bodies are closely joined together, what one of them feels is also communicated to the other, so also does the Lord God work in me. For there is no sweetness that is not in Me. My body and My soul are brighter than the sun and purer than the mirror. It would be as if, therefore, the Three Persons were visible in a mirror, if they were standing before Him; this is how the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are manifested in My purity. I once carried the Son of God with His Divinity under My Heart; now it is possible to see Him in Me with His Divinity and Humanity, as in a mirror; because I am glorified with glory. Therefore, O spouse of my Son, seek to imitate Me in humility and love nothing but My Son!
