On one occasion St. Mechtilde asked the Lord Jesus: “What is the use of a book containing her revelations?” The Savior said to her,
All who seek me with faithful hearts will find joy in it, those who love me will be more kindled in my love, and those who are sad will find comfort in it.”

Flower of Devotion

Through the offering of Holy Communion, many souls in purgatory are freed

On one occasion the Lord Jesus made this promise to St. Gertrude:
“By receiving the Blessed Sacrament I will draw you to Me in such a way that You will draw all after You, to whom will come the fragrance of your desire, which is truly inestimable within you.”
When, by virtue of this promise, after receiving the Blessed Sacrament, she demanded of the Lord that He should give her as many souls from Purgatory as the parts of the Most Holy Host had been divided into after its consumption, the Lord said:
“That you may know that My mercy is above all My works, then behold: I am here, that you may obtain much more through the value of this life-giving Sacrament. than what she asked for.”
