Flower of Devotion

The Blessed Mother gave the following teaching to the Venerable Mary of Jesus:

“My daughter, a true teacher of virtue must teach what he does and at the same time do what he teaches. Teaching and doing works are the two principal duties of the magisterium. Words should enliven, example should stimulate and validate the credibility of science, so that man may accept it and live according to it.
All this was observed by my Son, and according to His example, I am observing it as well. But since neither My Son nor I wished to remain forever in the world, the Lord Jesus decided to leave behind Him the holy Gospels, so that the children of light, by faith in the teachings of these Gospels and by observing them, might arrange their lives according to the life of their Divine Master. Hence the value of the sacred Gospels, and how they should be highly esteemed and venerated by men.
I declare to you that it gives My Divine Son and Me great glory and joy when His Divine words and the examples of His life find in men the respect and reverence due to them. On the other hand, the Lord Jesus considers it an offense if the children of the Holy Church forget His Gospel and His teaching. And yet there are so many children of the Church who neither understand nor heed this benefit, nor show gratitude, nor even think of it. As if they were pagans and did not possess the light of the Christian faith.
