On one occasion St. Mechtilde asked the Lord Jesus: “What is the use of a book containing her revelations?” The Savior said to her,
“All who seek me with faithful hearts will find joy in it, those who love me will be more kindled in my love, and those who are sad will find comfort in it.”

Prayer in honor of the Lord Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament.

The words of St. Mechtilde:
Blessed be you, beloved Lord Jesus Christ, God, Son of the eternal God. I believe and confess that you are indeed present here in the Blessed Sacrament as true God and Man. With this conviction I pay homage to you as my God and Lord, as my Creator and Redeemer, and above all as the Beloved and the Most Worthy of all worship. Now and forever and ever. Amen.
