On one occasion, when St. Gertrude felt a great deal of regret that she had become impatient the day before, owing to the slight tardiness of her servant; The Lord Jesus made her know that all the thoughts with which a man in sorrow and repentance dwell on his faults make him more capable and worthy to receive the grace of God. But before that, he should do true repentance, as the Scriptures say in God’s words: “That hour the sinner of sorrow shall turn to me, I will remember his sins no more.”
