Flower of Devotion

The Lord Jesus, in His special kindness, made known to Saint Gertrude that the liquid with which the eyes, ears, hands and feet of the sick person (holy oil) is anointed and which cleanses the dying person from the remnants of his sins, has its source in His Most Sacred Heart. He also revealed to her that this precious liquid had the power to beautify all parts of her body and to give them, as it were, the merit of all the deeds for which the sacred members of the Savior’s Divine Humanity served as instruments. And the Lord Jesus said again: “My daughter, entrust to Me all your decorations, so that, like a caring mother, I will keep them and give them back to you when you can no longer pollute them with any dirt.”
The Lord Jesus continued to say to the saint: “When you reach the goal that My Providence has assigned to you, i.e. when you lose so much strength that you are close to death, then in the sacrament of extreme unction I will give you, as it were, a kiss of peace and the last assurance of union with you, which I will soon complete.
Last unction with Saint’s oil it will be like a kiss of peace, because it is a sign of My love and a guarantee of the gifts I want to give you. This oil will have the power to cleanse your soul of even the smallest stains of your negligence to such an extent that then nothing will be able to turn My eyes away from you. The sooner you receive extreme unction with holy oil, the more your happiness will increase.”
