Flower of Devotion

What a blessing and what happiness have you received, Saint Joseph, man of God, that only you, and no other child of Adam, can be said to say: God himself was entirely yours, and to such an extent that he was considered your only son before everyone! The eternal Father gave you His Daughter, the Son gave you His Mother, and the Holy Spirit entrusted you with His Bride and made you His deputy. The entire Holy Trinity entrusted you with Its “One”, Its “Chosen One” and called Her your Bride.
O great saint, do you understand your dignity? Do you recognize your exaltation? Do you know that your Bride is the Queen and Monarch of Heaven and Earth, and you were the guardian of the ineffable treasures of God? O Holy Man, reflect on your office and recognize that the angels and seraphim are filled, although not with envy, but with admiration, and are amazed at your happiest fate and at the dignity that has befallen you through your most worthy marriage.
Accept the congratulations of such good fortune on behalf of the entire human race. You are the treasury that stores the union of all God’s mercy; you were the lord and bridegroom of Her, whom God alone surpasses in greatness! You are the richest and happiest of men, and even richer and happier than all angels.
Remember our poverty and misery, as well as me, the smallest worm of the earth; for I desire to be your most faithful servant and to receive the benefits of your graces and your mighty cause. Amen.
